The waiting bays are the pressure valve of Bus Loop. Four bays are open at the start of every level. When all four are occupied and no bus is loading or departing, a countdown begins. If it reaches zero, the level fails.

When the timer starts

  • Every bay must be occupied.
  • No bus may be currently loading.
  • No full bus may be waiting to depart.
  • No bus may be in the middle of leaving.

As soon as one of those conditions changes, the timer resets. This is why a full bus on its way out is not a disaster: the bay is about to be free.

How long is the timer?

The timer is roughly 6 seconds early on and rises toward 8 seconds in later levels. The exact value is chosen by the level, so treat the countdown as a warning rather than a fixed rule.

How to recover from a full set of bays

  1. Look for a bus that is already loading. Its departure will free a bay.
  2. If no bus can finish, use the free crane to remove a blocking vehicle.
  3. If the crane is already used, watch an ad for +1 bay or a rainbow bus.
  4. If none of those options fit, restart. A restart costs nothing.
Best habit: when three bays are full, stop releasing new colours unless the fourth bus can finish quickly.

Bays and colour order

A bay is not a queue position. Each bus waits for its own colour. Filling a bay with a colour that just left the boarding point can be worse than waiting. Before releasing, check which colour is next at the bottom of the loop.

Adding bays

You can add bays with coins, a rewarded ad, or the +1 bay booster. More bays are useful, but they do not replace a plan. A fifth bay can hold one more unfinished bus; it cannot make passengers arrive faster.
